New York: part 1

It is truly back to reality / work / normal everyday life after having the most amazing holiday. We have fallen in love with America and can't wait to return and explore more of this beautiful country.

First stop was New York for 5 nights. This has always been my dream destination, and I certainly lived up to every expectation that I had!

We stayed in the Hudson hotel, which was on west 58th street. Even though the room itself was small, I would still recommend this hotel as it was in a great location and had a very cool sky terrace roof bar. We enjoyed a cocktail or two here!

The sun was shining and we made the most of our time in this amazing city, exploring every bit that we could.

Here's a little taster of the photos I took via instagram - I'm looking forward to sharing all my other photos too!

Ah, looking at these photos makes me want to go back already! xx

My life lately...

1.  Beautiful flowers in the garden.  Not sure what they are though!
2.  The most delicious burger at Bill's.  I could eat another one (or two...) right now
3.  Even more deliciousness...this time a mixed berry and banana smoothie.  Trying to counteract the naughty burger!
4.  Spending time with my favourite lady

How was your weekend?

Friday fancies - wedding guest chic!

With the wedding season in full force at the moment, it's always handy to keep an eye on the dresses that are currently hitting the high street.

You never know when that invitation will pop through your letter box, and you need to rush out to buy the perfect wedding guest outfit...

I only have two weddings this year, but luckily I'm a bridesmaid for both!

However, if I was attending these weddings as a guest, this is definitely something I would go for...

Dreaming of Cape Cod

With my American adventure fast approaching (we're heading to New York, Cape Cod and Boston) I can't help but spend my days daydreaming about the weeks to come...

Cape Cod, in particular, has stolen my heart.

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am to explore the Cape!

I've been busy researching where to go, what to eat, museums, what sights to see...

More importantly, I've got my Jackie Kennedy book ready to flick through...

And also have been pinteresting like crazy...

It won't be long before I'm lounging about with my Jackie O inspired sunglasses, enjoying some fresh seafood chowder, watching the sun go down....

Perfection!

Friday fancies - summer sunglasses

On a sunny day, is there is no better feeling than rocking a cool pair of sunglasses and wearing a simple sundress?

Add a delicious ice cream to that mix, and it's pure summer bliss!

For my Friday Fancies theme this week, I've gone for a classic yet very chic pair of Burberry sunglasses....

Now all I need to do is jet off to Cannes for a long weekend away.

I wish.

My life lately...

1.  The most delicious homemade brownies for a Friday afternoon, thanks to my fellow blogger friend over at Fleton House - have a nose at her great blog if you want motivation on fitness and decor ideas!

2.  Girls trip away - this time we headed down to New Quay.  A really cute harbour town, with the best ice cream!  I went for a banoffee pie flavour, while my friends opted for white chocolate and butterscotch.

3.  Enjoying a drink after devouring ice cream.

4. This is the most enormous seafood platter I have ever seen.  Delicious, but unfortunately I could not finish it.  We had food at the Wellington Inn, and I highly recommend this place!

5.  I had to keep room for this pudding - hot triple chocolate fudgecake (shared with friend).  And yes, this blog post is mostly about food.

Good Reads

One thing you might not know about me is that I'm a massive bookworm....

There is nothing I love more than curling up on the couch with a blanket and becoming enthralled in a good book...

Or even perusing the local library and stumbling upon an old gem of a book.

Well, I've only recently discovered Good Reads

I know, where have I been!

Good Reads allows you to create an online library of sorts, rating books and finding new recommendations from online friends.

Sounds perfect!

I'm slowly building up my book collection on there and finding friends to share book reviews with.

Are you on Good Reads? If so, leave me your name below and we can share our love of books!

Here's my profile for all you lovely bookworms out there.
