Friday Fancies: weekend outfit

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am for this weekend.  My best friend is getting married tomorrow in the beautiful gower (please pray for sunshine / dry weather / no rain)...

However, before I can start prancing around in my beautiful bridesmaid dress....it's time to share my Friday Fancies outfit, with the theme relating to weekend wear.

This would be my ideal outfit for running errands - be that either walking Lena or wandering around the shops...

weekend outfit

You can't go wrong with a baggy striped top, skinny jeans and a leather jacket thrown on top!  All these items are from  H&M - my favourite shop for casual day wear.

What are you up to this weekend?

Currently loving...May

Reading...  The Great Gatsby.  I need to finish this before the film comes out in a few weeks - I can't wait to see Carey in all her amazing outfits.

Watching... Parks and Recreation. Oh my gosh...I just love this show.  I remember hearing about it from Jessica over at Belle Lumiere, and as she has such great taste in TV shows I knew I would enjoy this.  How right I was, thanks Jess!

Buying... shoes for spring.  I recently bought these chambray pumps from Next...

Loving... the fact that I have two weddings this summer, and I am a bridesmaid for both of them.  It is so nice to just enjoy being at a wedding, and not have any of the stress of the planning!

Wanting...  to start a countdown for my New York holiday.  Only 7 weeks to go!

Friday Fancies: Neon

I have a love / hate relationship with neon colours.

Is it mostly because I would never be cool enough to pull off a bright neon orange dress?

It probably is!

But Spring and Summer seasons are the perfect time to wear strong colours with pride, especially if you're heading off to a festival.

So for this week's Friday Fancies I put aside my concerns about pulling off a bright shade, and made a compromise.

Neon accessories!

Now the above bag is something I would love to own.

So the lesson here is, if you're scared to wear a certain trend / colour then start small, and stick with accessories!

How do you feel about neon colours?

Friday Fancies: Spring shoes

Now that the weather is slowly getting warmer, it's time to dust away your pumps and sandals and pack away the chunky winter boots.

Well...actually hold that thought...

Maybe not pack away as such, because let's be honest...we're guaranteed to have a rainy day or two!

So, in the days where it will be gloriously sunny, here are the Spring shoes that I've got my eye on...

Spring shoes

Head over to Long Distance Loving's blog if you would like to drool over more delicious shoes.

The only thing left now is to book a pedicure appointment!

                                                              Have a lovely weekend

Friday fancies - project polka dot

It's time to go polka dot crazy over at Long Distance Loving's blog this Friday!

Now I was going to choose a slightly more subtle polka print, but then I saw this adorable Zara blouse below could not resist creating an outfit based around it.

Girls, it's time to wear your polka dot prints loud and proud!

Mad for polka dots

I hope everyone has a nice weekend planned?

Mine is going to be pretty relaxed, and I'm really looking forward to it.  The next few weekends for me are very busy, so it's nice to have some quiet time, watching films and eating good food with my husband and pup!

Friday Fancies: wishing for Spring

I am sat here, daydreaming of sunnier days, where I can wear a cute little shirt dress and sandals, just like below.

As I look out the window, this is unfortunately not the case today.

The wind is blowing, the rain is pouring down, and there is even threat of more snow on the way.

Good old British weather, always keeping us on our toes!

Spring is (sort of) on its way!

This is typically not the colours I usually go for, but as this week's Friday Fancies theme is Hello Spring, then I wanted to create an outfit that would make me smile and skip around fields surrounded by beautiful flowers.

A girl can dream!

Celia Birtwell for Uniqlo

I'm always excited when a high street brand collaborates with a well known designer, and Uniqlo are renowned for doing this (and doing this well, I might add).

This time around, they're collaborating with a famous textile designer, Celia Birtwell.  I adore her prints, so was very excited to see how she transferred her creativeness into adorable, wearable clothes.

There are many items available to purchase from today, ranging from t-shirts to tunics, leggings to culottes.  Here are a few of my favourite items, and ones that I've got eye on (roll on pay day...)

~ V neck t-shirts are so handy for a casual weekend look  Thrown together with jeans and sandals, you can't go wrong!  Here are two of my choices...

~ Tunics are also another handy wardrobe staple item.  I tend to wear these with leggings (only if they're long though...nobody wants to see a lady's bum through leggings now do they!)

~ I'm also partial to a blouse, and have many in my wardrobe.  I would love to add this adorable one to my collection...

~  Printed trousers are not normally something I go for....but I can't resist these red polka dots / star ones!

Can you tell I have a thing for polka dots yet?

There are many more items for sale on the Uniqlo website, so take a wander over here if you're interested in what Celia has to offer.

Spring fashion wishlist - H&M

H&M is by far one of the my favourite high street shops.  It has everything a girl needs, and is so reasonably priced too!

I've been drooling over their website over the last few days, and have created a little wishlist of the things I want to buy for my Spring wardrobe...

H&M spring wishlist

1) Black, cropped leather jacket.  I need this in my life, pronto.
2) A classic denim jacket to throw over a dress on a breezier day.
3) Converse style trainers, for walks with my puppy of course.
4) Gold bangles.  Who doesn't need these?
5) Pink pumps, just because.
6) Leopard print scarf.  I already have one of these, but this is a different colour...so I definitely need two, right?
7) Mint coloured jumper, so cute with skinny jeans and flats!

H&M...I'm coming for you!
