Friday Fancies: leaf love!

I personally love this time of year when all the leaves are turning from gorgeous green to a more rustic orange and brown, so this week's Friday Fancies plays perfectly with autumnal colours.  If you are ever in doubt when looking for an autumn outfit, you can't go wrong when sticking to these shades!

I've chosen all my items from Dorothy Perkins, it's such a fantastic high street shop and very affordable as well.  Actually, looking at this outfit makes me want to go and buy these items immediately!

What is everyone up to this weekend?  I'm especially excited because my bridesmaids are having their first dress fitting tomorrow, I can't wait to see them in their lovely dresses!

Wedding Wednesday: cakes

In honour of blog post number 100, I thought I would share my favourite topics when discussing weddings....the dessert of course!

I'm not really a fan of the more traditional ones such as a fruit cake, so we were looking for something a little bit different.  Thanks to Pinterest, there are many options to admire and choose from.  I'm definitely drawn a cake with a rustic or vintage feel, so here are my favourites:

~ I adore the flowers on this cake, and of course the cute cake topping!

~  Another beautiful cake with flowers, this time on a rustic wooden bark as a cake stand - great idea!

~  This vintage lace one is just beautiful...almost too good to eat!

~ As I am having a winter wedding, this one would be perfect...

~  Or we could go for something different altogether...like these cute cupcakes

~  ...or even a plateful of macaroons!

Friday Fancies: fashion shades of grey

We're going monotone crazy over at Long Distance Loving's blog today! 

I have gone with gorgeous grey tones for my Friday fancies this week, as you can quite literally combine so many different shades of grey! Now this colour might not be the obvious choice for many people, but I for one, love it.

From the classic converse shoe...to cosy knitwear....through to nail varnish....you can mix and match so many different items together.

Currently loving & my instagram life

I can't quite believe it's October already, the last few weeks seems to have flown by in a blur!  I also can't believe it's time for another 'currently loving' post, but here we go...

Reading... Still Thinking of You by Adele Parks. I fancied something quite light and easy to read afer finishing Gone Girl (which was brilliant by the way...but I wasn't expecting that ending!)

Watching... X Factor, and to be honest it's not as exciting as previous years.  I'm more excited for the return of Strictly Come Dancing!

Buying... I'm currently looking for the perfect headpiece for my wedding....not much luck so far though

Loving... BHS home department.  Now this is not somewhere I usually think when I'm looking for something new, but I popped in here the other day and was so impressed by their selection!  So many lovely things to choose from, such as photo frames, kitchen utensils and duvet covers (I even bought a new cushion for the lounge....pic below)

Wanting... sushi!  I've had such a craving for some the whole weekend.
